To hire a domestic worker in the UAE, filter the verified directory, shortlist two or three profiles, interview them and check references, agree the duties and salary in writing, then sponsor the visa yourself or through a licensed Tadbeer centre and start with a short trial.

Duties and responsibilities of a domestic worker

A domestic worker supports the household across cleaning, cooking and family care, with the exact mix agreed with you before the start date.

  • Keeping the home clean, tidy and organised
  • Laundry, ironing and general upkeep
  • Cooking or meal help, depending on the role
  • Childcare or elderly support where needed
  • Errands and day-to-day household tasks

  5. Start with a trial

    Begin with a short trial period to make sure the domestic worker is the right fit before committing long term.

Full-time live-in

The worker comes in each day and heads home in the evening. In most homes, cleaning and upkeep happen in set daytime hours while your evenings stay private. It can cost a little more per hour, but you keep your space to yourself.

Part-time

A few hours or specific days

The lightest, most flexible option. In most homes, a few cleaning visits a week keep things in order - the lightest, most flexible option. Part-time and hourly help should be arranged through a licensed agency, never informally, so the worker stays legal and covered.
